Volunteer Ann delivers hearing awareness training to NHS staff – Scotland

The Hearing Link Scotland team was delighted to provide Hearing Awareness Training to NHS Fife frontline staff last week.

Our wonderful volunteer Ann Thallon shared her own personal experiences of living with hearing loss and of accessing NHS services in Fife.

The session, held in Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy, aimed to give staff members an understanding of the challenges faced by people with hearing loss, as well as providing them with strategies and tips for supporting these patients.

Lorna Armstrong, Scotland Director, said: “It was a fantastic afternoon in Kirkcaldy and we had lots of positive feedback from our group, which is very pleasing as it was a pilot session. By sharing her own experiences, Ann was able to highlight the challenges in her own patient journey in Fife, but also gave examples of good practice that the attendees could adopt in their own working practices. We are looking forward to delivering our next session in early summer.”
