March 3rd 2020: World Hearing Day

Today is World Hearing Day, organised by the World Health Organisation (WHO).  

 The theme for this year’s event is: ‘Don’t let hearing loss limit you. Hearing for Life’. 

Across the world around 5% of the population has hearing loss. Around 83% of those who could benefit from a hearing aid don’t use one. 

 World Hearing Day aims to raise awareness of hearing loss and care at national and community levels, while promoting appropriate and timely interventions such as rehabilitation, education and good communication.
