Steer hearing loss in a new direction in 2019 – Northern Ireland
Are you passionate about making things better for people with hearing loss and their families/friends?
Maybe you have hearing loss yourself and have experience of managing the challenges you face in the workplace, at university or during social events. You might work in the field of audiology or health and social care, or you have fantastic marketing and IT skills that you want to use for benefit of others.
If you can relate to any of the above and have a little bit of time to spare, then we need you to be part of our Steering Group for our new Northern Ireland project.
Connect Hear NI, funded by the Big Lottery, aims to help people with hearing loss to reconnect with their families and communities and embrace experiences they are commonly excluded from or struggle with.
Nuala Muldoon, Hearing Link’s Northern Ireland Manager, said: “We want hear from anyone who can help us to drive forward with our exciting new project – Connect Hear NI.
“Our Steering Group will consist of staff members and volunteers; and together we will shape the project by identifying priorities and generating ideas to help those with hearing loss overcome barriers.
“We will have quarterly meetings and communication support will be provided to help members. We would love to hear from men and women of all ages, as well as family members, partners or relatives of people living with hearing loss as it commonly impacts on their lives too.
“If you think you have the time, skills and passion to help us support more people with hearing loss and their families, please get in touch.”
Anyone interested in the above roles should email a short paragraph stating why this opportunity would be of interest and what skills you could bring to the group to nuala.muldoon@hearinglink.org by Friday 14th December 2018.
