Fantastic start to 2024 LinkUp support groups
We started off our LinkUp support groups for 2024 with a fantastic group of participants in Northern Ireland!
These groups, delivered by our network of peer support volunteers, are for anyone LinkUp support anyone whose life has been affected by hearing loss. This includes anyone whose hearing has deteriorated to the point where it is causing them difficulties.
They are held in every country of the UK and for people directly affected by the challenges of hearing loss and their families too.
Northern Ireland group fully engaged
Everyone that attended our group in Cookstown was fully involved throughout the weekend. We received some incredible feedback from both our non-hearing and hearing participants! Here are some of the amazing things they said:
“I was inspired by everyone here. I feel more confident. I’m not ashamed of my disability anymore.”
“I’ve enjoyed the whole weekend. It has been very, very informative. I’ve learned things that I didn’t know existed which have really helped, and I take that on my journey going forward. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
“I feel very fortunate and blessed to have been part of this group. To speak to everybody and get to know everybody that’s come along here and understand their experience. It has helped me amazingly. It has increased my confidence and going forward from this, it really boosted my self-esteem to go out there and be a lot stronger and be able to manage my hearing loss.”
