Participant needed for potential swimmer’s ear research

The National Institute for Health Research (the research arm of the NHS) is considering funding new research into the effectiveness of treatments for swimmer’s ear (otitis externa).

The Institute is seeking to get in touch with someone who has experienced more than one episode of the condition to ask them to look at a research proposal from a lay person’s perspective. No expertise is required for this, other than personal experience with swimmer’s ear.

The chosen participant will be sent a document by email, upon which they would be asked to provide detailed comments via an online system. An honorarium payment of £50.00 will be provided for the assistance given.

The deadline will be around mid February, so applicants should be prepared to complete the task by that time if accepted.
